The Used make all our emo dreams come true in London

On their first UK tour in five years, UK rock and emo icons The Used took to London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town to celebrate the release of their new record Toxic Positivity, out now via HasselRecords/Big Noise.

First support act of the night, Honey Revenge, had an exhilarating and action-packed evening ahead of them. With a headline show of their own to rush to at Camden’s Assembly, they were determined to leave a lasting impression. If there’s one thing we can learn from their performance, it’s the importance of approaching every aspect of life with unwavering love, boundless passion, and unbridled fun, just like Honey Revenge did during their electrifying eight-track set.

With their infectious hit single “Airhead” as the opening number, Honey Revenge took the stage by storm, captivating the audience from the very first note. The energy in the room was palpable as they flawlessly performed tracks from their vibrant debut album, “Retrovision.”

Throughout their set, the band never held back, constantly infusing the space with an unparalleled amount of fun.

Hailing from Seattle, The Home Team electrified the stage at O2 Forum Kentish Town, captivating the hearts of the London audience. Frontman Brian Butcher’s mesmerising charisma immediately called for attention, drawing the crowd in like moths to a flame. The band’s signature sound, a mix of pop-punk and metal infused with the soulful essence of R&B and catchy pop influences, reverberated through every corner of the venue.

With an irresistible energy, the band delved into their recently released, innuendo-laden anthem, LOUD, which the crowd embraced with uncontainable enthusiasm. Throughout the rest of their set, they performed tracks from their sophomore album, Slow Bloom, unleashing the power of songs like Move It Or Lose It and Scary Movies on the exhilarated crowd.

And then, the time came for the highly anticipated moment when the emo legends, The Used, took to the stage. The crowd, overflowing with excitement, was prepared to unleash their energy and absorb every single note the band had to offer. With electrifying enthusiasm, The Used kicked off their epic show by launching into the timeless 2007 track, “Pretty Handsome Awkward.” The atmosphere intensified as they plunged into the depths of nostalgia, delivering more throwback tracks like the iconic 2004’s “Take It Away” and the hauntingly beautiful “The Bird and the Worm” from 2007.

In a deliberate move to captivate their dedicated fans, The Used chose to focus primarily on their colossal second studio album, “In Love And Death,” released in 2004. The crowd resonated with the raw emotions unleashed during performances of tracks like “I Caught Fire” and, as the encore, the explosive “I’m A Fake.” The band even brought their signature circle pit Shakespeare soliloquy to London for “Blood On My Hands.” With the night reaching its end, The Used left an indelible mark on their fans with a breathtaking rendition of “A Box Full Of Sharp Objects.”

Once again The Used show that they still are everything we’ve always loved about them – honest, vulnerable, and in your face.
